Gillingham Ladies suffered their first home league defeat of the season on Sunday as they lost to MK Dons Ladies at Chatham Town FC.

Gillingham started the game with a goal after three minutes. Kallie Balfour got hold of the ball and she ran into the penalty area, she laid the ball to Jade Keogh who hit a low shot past Emma Kirby and into the net.

Balfour had a great chance to double their lead as she ran through and hit a shot on goal, but Kirby deflected the ball wide.

Balfour had two more chances to put the Gills further ahead. But on both chances she got too much power on her shots and the ball went high over the goal.

MK Dons did level the game up just after the half hour mark. A free kick was drilled into the penalty area. Charley Clarke got ahead of Chelsea Wallace in front of goal, and deflected the cross into the bottom corner of the net.

Keogh had a great chance to get Gillingham back in front before half time. She completed a good one-two with Balfour on the edge of the penalty area, then she hit the ball towards goal but it went over the cross bar.
