With the season only four days away, Gillingham Ladies pre-season fixture schedule concludes with the visit of AylesfordLFC on Wednesday 12th August.
The local women’s side will face the Gills at Chatham Town FC on Wednesday evening with the game kicking off at 7:30pm.
The game offers management duo Darren Hare and Jack Wheeler a final opportunity to put the girls through their paces ahead of the new FA WPL campaign starting on Sunday 19th August.
Gillingham Ladies welcome Ipswich Town for their first home game of the new campaign. Captain Lauren Williams hopes fans will be able to support the girls on the opening day, building upon the momentum of a good pre-season.
“It’s been a great pre-season for the squad. There’s a host of new, exciting players joining the club, along with girls from our Centre of Excellence; we’ve had lots of opportunity to get to know one another and we’re a tight knit group. We all want to work hard for one another and are completely focused on making this season a memorable.”
“Through all the highs and lows of the past couple of seasons, we’ve always relied on a strong fanbase who’ve supported us know matter what. At the start of the season, it would be great to make Chatham Town really feel like home. Ipswich will provide a real test for us and any extra advantage we can create with a big crowd will be a bonus.”
Entry for Wednesday evening’s game will be at the reduced price of £2 for adults and free for Under 16s.
