Gillingham Ladies were invited to Chelsfield Lakes to enjoy a round or two of the hugely popular footgolf by our friends at Kent Footgolf.
The squad were given Saturday off to enjoy some time away from the training ground after a gruelling start to pre-season.
With a host of new signings welcomed to the club, the opportunity to link up with Kent Footgolf gave the club the perfect occasion to enjoy some team bonding.
Gills joint-manager Jack Wheeler thanked Kent Footgolf and Chelsfield Lakes for their hospitality and providing the club with an ideal way to get some team bonding done ahead of the start of the season.
“Footgolf has taken off across the country and particularly in Kent with so many courses dotted around, I was delighted when the opportunity and invite came around for the team. The players have been working really hard and it was nice to have the opportunity to bring the group together.”
“The competition never stops with our team and it proved to be a perfect afternoon from our point of view. The course and hospitality was fantastic and everyone at the club appreciates the efforts that went into accommodating us.”
Club Captain Lauren Williams added; “The team had a really good time, the banter was flying around the course and we were all really pleased to have a go at footgolf.”
“There’s a real buzz around the squad at the moment and it was lovely to have the opportunity to get to know each other better. We have lots of Centre of Excellence graduates joining us this season besides a host of new signings so the opportunity helped us gel even more as a group.”
“We’re all working hard to be in the best shape for our first game against Ipswich on Sunday 16th August. The new season will bring with it new challenges but with the squad we’re building I’ve got every belief it could be one of our best.”
