Despite conceding a goal from Portsmouth’s Megan Gratton, A four goal haul from Ashlee Hincks plus goals from Ellie Manning, Lauren Phillips and Lauren Williams was enough for Gillingham Ladies reserves to crush Portsmouth Ladies Reserves.
Going into the match, Gillingham Ladies Reserves manager Jason Wright was not happy with the performance of the girls as they lost 6-2 in their previous game to QPR Ladies Reserves.
The game started with Gillingham trying to control the game but they had to deal with soaking a lot of pressure given by Portsmouth as they pressed forward.
But it was Gillingham who broke the deadlock with their first attack of the game as Manning broke on the right and ran the ball into the middle of the pitch before hitting a beautiful through ball to Hincks who got away from her defender and slotted the ball hard past Trood and into the back of the net.
Portsmouth then went straight down the other end and won a corner, the corner came out to a midfielder who hit a lob towards Ledger in the Gillingham goal and she did well to hold out the Portsmouth attach and clear the ball away.
Hincks then doubled her goal tally on ten minutes as Williams cut inside her defender and she hit a delightful cross to Hincks who evaded her defender and hit a low toe-poke past Trood and the ball zipped into the back of the net.
Portsmouth continued to look for a goal to get back into the game. The visitors won a corner but the ball was only partially cleared before Ellie Skinner got the end of a deep cross and hit a shot right on the right edge of the penalty box, the ball went past the stricken Ledge but the ball cannoned off the post before being cleared away.
Hincks could have completed a first half hat trick as she got hold of the ball on the edge of the penalty box and hit a powerful shot towards goal but Trood did well to deflect the shot for a corner.
Gillingham then added a third from the corner as the ball was drilled into the penalty box and Manning did well to out jump the other players around her to head the ball past Trood and into the back of the net.
Portsmouth did get on the score sheet halfway through the first half the Gillingham defence were unable to deal with Megan Gratton as she got ahead of Hollie Musmeci of a looping cross and she toe poked a shot past Ledger and the ball zipped into the back of the net.
Hincks who then completed her hat trick for Gillingham Ladies as Bonnie Long hit a long ball towards her path and as Hincks held off two Portsmouth defenders, she hit a curling shot from outside the penalty box, it looked like the wind caught it as the ball curled past Trood and ended up in the top corner.

LaurenPhillips got in on the scoring as she pressed hard for the ball before hitting a low shot from the edge of the penalty box and the ball zipped into the back of the net as Gillingham.
Hincks gained another goal as the ball fell away from a Portsmouth defender and she hit a beautiful lob past the stricken Portsmouth goalkeeper and the ball nestled into the bottom corner of the net.
Gillingham added a seventh goal as a corner was drilled into the back post and the ball fell kindly to Williams who hit a powerful shot from six yards out.
Portsmouth still had chances to get more consolation goals and they had a great chance to score from a free kick on the edge of the penalty box, Gratton stood over the ball and drilled a shot towards goal but she got too much on her shot and the ball zipped over the crossbar for a goal kick.
