Darren Hare, Director of Youth Development and Community Trust revealed his delight at the girls pre-season: “The girls have been fabulous, have shown a great work ethic, and I have really enjoyed working with them. They have had the same treatment as the first team players with James Russell, our Fitness coach, coming in to take the opening night with similar tests to the boys, and I have provided some football sessions that have pushed them hard.”

“The quality has been good, and despite losing a large number of players from last seasons’ squad, I am quietly confident we can put together a team to cope with the demands of the division. It won’t be easy, nothing ever is, but if the girls continue to show me the same attitude and determination then I’m sure we will have a good season.’”

Darren added: “The professional coaching staff at the club have all pitched in with support on training nights with Andy Hessenthaler (Assistant Manager), Mark Patterson (U21 Coach) and Steve Lovell (U18 Coach) all offering their expertise in practical sessions on different occasions to assist me. This has valuable experience and variety for the girls and I think they have really enjoyed it.”
