Gillingham Ladies Football club were shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Emma Andrews earlier this week.
Emma the wife of former club Chairman Martin Andrews, was taken from us suddenly on Monday evening. She was a vibrant and well liked member of the Gillingham Ladies family for many years, supporting the club in any way that she could, even after giving up assisting running the club on a day to day basis to focus on her family.
Having played a major part in the success of Gillingham Ladies over the years, Emma will be remembered for the many roles that she undertook in her support of Martin and his vision to make the club a success.
Many will remember her for her role as club secretary when the club were based at Lordswood and for her warm and friendly smile behind the turnstiles and at the tea bar. She was after all a major part of what made Gillingham Ladies a family run and family friendly club.
More than that though, past players and staff who knew Emma will remember the caring and tender wife and mother that she was to Martin and daughters Liberty and Charisma, and for that she will be sorely missed.
The thoughts of all the players, staff and fans of Gillingham Ladies FC are with Martin, Liberty and Charisma and their family at this time.
