Gillingham Ladies Manager Wins County Award

Gillingham Ladies Football Club are extremeley proud and pleased to announce First Team Manager James Marrs will receive a 2014 FA Community Award presented by McDonalds in the category of Kent FA Coach of The Year.

As Kent FA Coach of The Year, in August James will be invited to receive his award at the Kent FA Volunteer Workforce Awards evening to be held in October. This evening is the Kent FA’s annual celebration of the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to ensure that the excellent reputation that the county has at grassroots level is maintained.

James’ nomination will also be forwarded to The FA for consideration for a regional award.

An accolade that acknowledges numerous hours, sessions, travelling and quality coaching, James’ award is testament to the work he has done since joining the club.

“i was thrilled at the news – absolutely overwhelmed with it. I’m so happy.”

James added: “I’d like to thank the members of Gillingham Ladies for their support and to those who took the time to vote for me. I’m so grateful and will do my very best to ensure that the work continues towards striving towards development.”

The club would like to congratulate James for this well deserved award, a fitting acknowledgement of the tireless work he does for Gillingham Ladies.
Its an honour to be collecting an award on behalf of this football club an the hard work that it achieves. You are only as good as the support you have around you. My players an staff have been brilliant this season an like i said its an honour to be collecting on behalf of those guys.
