After yesterday’s fantastic 3-0 win over Charlton in the Kent Cup Final, Manager James Marrs was delighted coming away from the tie with silverware;

“I’m absolutely delighted with it. What a fantastic achievement. I’m so pleased for the girls, to see what they work hard for and what the feeling is like to be lifting a trophy.”

The final moved location this year, previous years has seen the game held at Sevenoaks, this years’ Kent Cup was played out at Maidstone’s Gallagher Stadium on the 3G pitch. The local support was right behind both teams. Marrs laid plaudits to the fans who turned up to support the Gills;

“The support we had was brilliant, we didnt quite realise how much support we had in the stadium until we scored. It was defiantly uplifting for the girls as it reminds them that there is huge amounts of support for them, it keeps them putting the extra work in.”

Rolling on to the third match in the space of a week, Sunday’s FA Cup last 16 match against Arsenal. Marrs is hoping to make it three out of three after two wins on the bounce;

“We have had two really good wins so far this week, we are hoping the momentum can take us onto a third. We know what we have to do, put in a good performance and that’s what we’re be aiming for. Fingers crossed.”

James says your support is vital to the girls, why not come and support Kent’s best Women’s team in the clubs biggest game, away at Arsenal Ladies with the magic of the FA Cup. If you wish to book a space on the supporters coach, please click here for details¬†
