It’s been a fantastic 2013 for Gillingham Ladies Football Club; filled with some lows but many, many highs.
the 2013/14 season is already flying by and it’s already created some fantastic memories for the club the cherish, broken some long standing records and looks to be one to remember in 2014.
And like every week thus far this season, the build up to Christmas is a busy one for Gills Ladies. Having supported our friends at Gillingham Independent Supporters Club at their fundrasing event on the 16th December, this Friday (20th December), the club is coming together to toast the festive season with the Gillingham Ladies Christmas party.
Guests, including players, coaching staff, committee members, family, friends and partners will arrive at The Village Community Sports and Social Club, Bells Lane in Hoo at 7:30.
Our guests will enjoy a three course meal, followed by the traditional (and highly anticipated) exchanging of gifts with the club’s Secret Santa, followed by a disco.
The partying will sadly have to stop however, as there won’t be much time for a lay in as Gills Ladies are up and out at 10am to Medway Hospital the following morning.
Gillingham Ladies players and staff will be paying a visit to the Children’s Ward to spend some time with patients staying at the hopsital over Christmas. With hampers, Gills Ladies goody bags and other treats lined up, it’s a morning the club is very much looking forward to.
Then on Sunday, it’s back to business. Gills Ladies are at home at Chatham Town FC (KO 2pm) and welcome Lewes Ladies. Gills fans will of course be looking to avenge the 3-1 defeat in early December, which saw Lewes end the Gills unbelievable four month unbeaten run.
The club would like to encourage all fans to come along for a fantastic (And festive) afternoon of football fun. In what will be yet another entertaining battle in the FA Women’s Southern Premier League, it’s an afforable one too, with adults charged just £3 to attend the game whilst U16s are free.
On Saturday 28th December, Gills Ladies will be on our travels again. This time greeting fans and shoppers at Strood Tescos. We’re looking forward to the opportunity of getting out and about in the community once more and expanding our ever growing fanbase.
Gillingham Ladies would like to wish all our fans, partners, players, staff and local community a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We look forward to seeing more of you in 2014.
